Animation Introduction
(Work in progress)
Creating a strong initial impact on viewers within the opening moments of a show or movie is crucial. This opening sequence serves as an opportunity to captivate the audience and entice them to engage with the media being presented. As initial impressions sets the tone for the entire viewing experience and helps viewers gauge whether the content aligns with their interests. Thus, it's essential for the illustration and animation to complement the intended tone and overall message.
Currently I am working on a project, using the skills I know now, to reinvent and reimagine a story inspired by Snow White and Alice in Wonderland. I am hoping to accomplish a full fledged animation for this project in the upcoming weeks using the skills and methods I have learned since the initial creation of the project.
Analyzing the initial footage of the project, I am able to define the important elements and details that made up the original piece. The story "Into the Rabbit Hole" involves a lot of psychological and mystery theme through out it's story. Tackling some of the hard topics in life such as the inevitability of death and the acceptance of one's situation while still finding joy in the small things around despite everything. In my reimagining I hope to strengthen these topics within my animation as well as better represent these themes in a way that shows more depth and meaning behind each frame.
Character Concept Design
Starting with the characters, I understand that for this project I want to make the character more detailed and give them color unlike the original introduction. In this way I hope to portray their characteristics and emotions. These designs were the final product of research in order to come up with the most effective representation of their characteristics as well as their place within the story. As I want to demonstrate the importance of making their designs emulate their personality while keeping hints of the old designs especially regarding the protagonist remained.
Vectorization and Skeletal Structure
I know that for the final piece I want the characters to be fully animated and vectorized therefore after sketching and designing their characters I have imported them into Illustrator. In this way I hope to form the skeleton of the characters in a way that allows for full manipulation of their joins, clothes, and other appendages they might have. In the image above I have completed the skeletal structure for one of the main characters with in the story. Making sure to name the joint type as well as ensure all joints make sense.
In Progress
Currently this project is a work in progress however I am hoping to have the project completed by the end of the end of April. In setting this deadline for myself I hope to demonstrate a better depth in visual representation as well as provide a more appealing product.
